We are thrilled to introduce you to our amazing teachers that we have chosen to teach at our studio.
The following is an introduction of our teachers and owners:
Dave Hadlock — Owner: Dave has started up and owned three businesses. In addition to the dance studio, he currently owns a travel agency. His interest in dance began at about 12 years of age with breakdance classes. He continued with hip-hop and ballroom dance through college with several years on the BYU ballroom dance team. While working on his MBA at the University of Utah, he did a marketing internship for Ballet West and danced with future wife, Lee in a Hip Hop Crew (To the Extreme) for Rick Robinson (formerly of Center Stage, currently co-owner at Vibe).
LeAndrena Hadlock — Co-Owner/Office Manager/Instructor -Misc Classes: Lee started dance training at 19. Within a year, she was a professional dancer in LA. She trained in hip-hop, ballet/pointe, tap, clogging, jazz, tumbling and modern. She was a College cheerleader in Pasadena, California. She has taught for several studios, the Los Angeles & Alpine School Districts, and choreographed for community organizations. She also trained at BYU (dance minor) and earned a BS in Human Development. At BYU, she was on Dancensemble (modern company) and started a Hip-Hop Crew, (Y-Girls). She trained hip hop with Shane Sparks (SYTYCD Choreographer/America’s Best Dance Crew Judge), Rick Robinson (Center Stage, Vibe) and Jaymz Tuialeva (SYTYCD/High School Musical/Dancing with the Stars/Youtube). She has danced in numerous ballets such as: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Giselle. She also coached the Rockwell High Dance Team and has taught for over 27 years. She loves dancing and spending time with her 5 children (ages 12 -20) & husband, Dave.
Karena Soderborg — Tap, Tumbling, BTT Combo: Karena was born in Napa, California where she enrolled in tap and ballet classes at the age of three. Since then Karena has taken lessons in many other forms of dance and enjoys them all, but considers tap and clogging to be her favorites. As an adult, Karena has danced in productions in both California and Utah. Along with her love for dancing, she has a love for teaching. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and taught 4 years in the Alpine School District. She is excited to teach for In Motion Dance Studio.
Wendy Francis — Ballet, Pointe, Jazz: Wendy has been dancing since the age of 4. She has had extensive training in many forms of dance, including Jazz and Modern, but by the age of 11, she had developed a strong love of ballet. She trained at the Cachet School of Ballet and was a member of the Cachet Ballet Company, under the direction of JoAnn Loveland. Wendy has performed in several productions, including “The Little Match Girl”, “A Night with Gershwin”, “The Nutcracker”, “Paquita”, and “Swan Lake”, to name a few. She has been a ballet instructor for many years and loves teaching the art of dance. When she’s not dancing, Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband, Russ, and their 4 children.
Nathan Hadlock — Breakdance: This is Nathan’s first year of teaching. Last year he was the breakdance class assistant. He has been break-dancing since he was 5. He has also trained in hip hop, modern and ballroom. This is his third year on the Westlake Ballroom Freshman Team. He was awarded with “Best Performer” last year at Westlake’s End of Year Concert. He enjoys competing with his team. He is a member of Frontier Dance Company and his hobbies include skateboarding, reading, and gaming with friends.
Miranda Holindrake (Ballet/Pointe 7): Miranda began dancing when she was five years old. She started her training with tap dancing and quickly moved to classical Ballet with Jaqueline College and Utah Regional Ballet. Along with her ballet training she also studied jazz and contemporary. After eleven years of ballet she found a passion for Ballroom. In Ballroom she trained with Ray Backlund at Dance Sport Universe. During her Ballroom career she showcased on two cruise lines and competed in several ballroom competitions as an individual couple and team dances. She has won multiple awards through ballroom across Utah and Nationally. A graduate from the University of Utah in Human Development and Family Studies she is the Director of Administration for Sylvan Learning Centers of Utah. She has a love for teaching and working with children and teenagers. Next to dancing she enjoys weight training and fitness, rock climbing, and watching movies.
Clara Anderson — Tumbling/Gymnastics 1-4
Clara was born in Provo but has lived in Eagle Mountain since she was two. She took some of her first dance and tumbling classes at In Motion Dance Studio when it first opened. Clara has been active her whole life including running track and cross country and 8 years of gymnastics. She has been coaching gymnastics and tumbling for over 4 years and loves sharing her passion with kids. Clara was on the Dance Company at Frontier Middle School last year. She recently decided to use her tumbling skills to pursue diving.
Clorissa Bascom — Mini -Combo, Creative Ballet(fitness bio will be updated to dance)
Fitness and dance have always been a great part of my life. I believe that exercise can be a fun and uplifting experience. I have been dancing for over 20 years in numerous styles including: ballet, modern, hip hop, belly dancing, zumba, and ballroom. I also find weight training and physical conditioning exhilarating and life enhancing. I believe all forms of wellness work together for our benefit. No one is perfect, but the journey to improvement is wonderful. Graduate from UVU with duel degrees in Early Childhood Ed and Behavioral Science.
Kirsten Card — (Ballet 1, 2&3): began dancing at the age of three and continued her dance education throughout her life. Kirsten was raised in Utah and was trained at Hi-Light Dance Academy in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. She participated on the highest competition teams, where her team received many awards. Kirsten started assistant teaching at the age of 15 and quickly realized that she had a passion for helping others develop their talent of dance. Kirsten completed an internship at Mountain Ridge Jr High School where she taught Hip Hop and Higher Level 2 Classes. She is a licensed yoga instructor and incorporates her yoga training into teaching her dance classes. She loves helping students gain confidence in their dancing through using the strength and flexibility of their bodies.
Kjandyce Beckmann (Jazz/Ballet 1, Jazz/Hip Hop 1, Jazz 2): Kjandyce has been dancing since she was two years old. She trained strongly in jazz, ballet, contemporary, tap, and hip-hop at The Dance Club for 10 years. She grew up taking place in competitions/conventions receiving scholarships and top awards for solos. Kjandyce was chosen to be a hip-hop back up dancer for a HTC Phone Commercial directed by Jason Celaya and an acting part in the short film “Colorless Green” for the Sundance Film Festival. For years she has performed in the charity showcase Art with Heart and the USANA International Convention. She devoted her high school years to training at Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts directed by Janalyn Memmott and Derryl Yeager in the dance academy. Kjandyce was given the opportunity to be a part of Odyssey Dance Theater her senior year of high school. She is a part of their touring cast for their famous show “Thriller” and will be touring in Europe with them in the summer.

Shanna Davies — Zumba: Shanna began her dance training when she was 5 in Long Beach, CA and continued to dance between the ages of 9 – 15 when she lived in Sydney, Australia with her family. She had many opportunities to perform at the Sydney Opera house, winning 1st place in a dance competition one year. After moving to Utah she continued her study in Ballet, participating in productions and roles including Clara in the Nutcracker, Snow Queen, Arabian dancer, Spanish dancer, and Waltz of the Flowers soloist. She attended BYU’s summer ballet workshop, and was a member of Alta High School’s Dance company for 3 years. She was accepted into the intense ballet program at the University of Utah as a ballet major and studied there for 1 year. After taking a break from ballet, she was introduced to Zumba and instantly became an addict. Zumba is where she now gets her dance fix. She enjoys sharing her love of dance and fitness with others. She keeps busy as a wife and mother of 6.
Katie Bayton — Zumba Step, Zumba: Hi, I’m Katie and I have loved dancing my whole life. Zumba has been my love for years and I have loved sharing my love with others. Zumba is not only fun but has changed my life’s view on exercising. People who have done Zumba have not only seen changes in there appearance but their health. It’s a great mood regulator and so much fun! I love introducing Zumba to people that have never tried it because they always get hooked! Try it and see just how fun exercising can be!
Melisa Chehda — Zumba: Melisa is a mother of three very active children. As a native of Argentina, latin dancing has always been a part of her life. She has been a member of different Latin Folklore groups and performed in a variety of venues such as BYU Fiesta and UVU Latin-American Celebration. Melisa found Zumba and immediately knew it would help her stay fit and healthy to take care of her family. Every Zumba class feels like a party and with moves that are easy to follow, everyone can have a great workout! She was certified in 2012 and has enjoyed the opportunity to meet amazing people from all walks of life and being a part of their health journey
Amy Chadwick –Zumba: Amy has always had a passion for dance and fitness. She danced from the age of 5 through high school and has competed on many dance teams and in various dance programs throughout Utah. After getting married and having children she found a deep love for fitness and exercise and got into running in 2010. She continues to run races including half marathons, relays, and more. She loves to weight train and expand her knowledge of fitness and was excited to start teaching Zumba when she was certified in 2013. Zumba filled the gap between dance and exercise and she was able to share her passion for both. In her spare time she loves to dance and hang out with her husband and 4 daughters.
Clarissa Thomas — LaBlast: Clarissa has loved dance, fitness, and teaching her whole life. From age 14, she trained in contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and modern. She was a member of modern company in High School and Repertory Dance Theatre’s Student Intensives for 3 years. She met her husband in Club Style (Hip Hop Dance) at BYU in 2004 and he then introduced her to ballroom. Within 4 months, she was competing professionally, placing, and moving up in divisions. She was also a member of the BYU Ballroom Dance Company Backup team until she graduated in 2010 with a minor in Ballroom. Since graduating, Clarissa has taught creative movement classes, lead the Saratoga Springs Elementary Ballroom Program, oned a Floral Design Company, and choreographed for the Miss Saratoga Springs Pageant. Clarissa is now a busy wife and mom of three glitter fairies, has become a complete health nut (chocolate dipped) teaching weights/resistance classes, but is most ecstatic to share her love of dance through LaBlast Dance Fitness!
