Tumbling and Gymnastics Class Descriptions

Class Descriptions for Tumbling:

Tumbling 1 & Tumbling Tots Ages 3-6:

-Warm up Drills

-Forward and backward rolling,  introduction to dive roll,

– Introduction to Cartwheel

-Introduction to Handstand & Flat backs

-Introduction to Round-Off

-Introducing round-offs, handstand flat-backs

-Assisted kick-over

-Bridge

-Dive roll

-Handstand to flat back

-Simple bar skills (forward dismount, strength skills- pike, straddle, sloth hang, strong arms) introduction to pullover

-Simple beam skills for balance (baby handstands, jumps, kicks, tippy toe walks)

Intermediate Tumbling 1/ Pre-Gymnastics (ages 6-8):

(plus all skills from previous levels)

-Cartwheel

-Handstand

-Round-off

-Backbend to kick-over

-Handstand to bridge

-Pullovers, casts, and back-hip circles on bars

 

Tumbling 2&3/Beg. Gymnastics (ages 8 and up):
(plus all skills from previous levels)

-Handstand

-Cartwheel (both sides)

-Round-off

-Backbend, kick-over (Introduce back walkover)

-Handstand to bridge to stand

-Dive roll

-Handstand to flat back

-Introduce back-handsprings and aerials

-Pullover, casts, back-hip circle, dismount, leg-cut, forward mill circle on bars

 

Tumbling 4:
(plus all skills from previous levels)

-Handstand (holding for least 3 seconds, walking)

-Cartwheel

-Round-off

-Backbend, kick-over (Back walkover)

-Handstand to bridge to stand (Front walkover)

-Front and Back Limber

-Front-handspring

-Back-handspring

-Round-off, back-handspring

-Aerial

-Pullover, casts, back-hip circle, dismount, leg-cut, forward mill circle on bars
